Zusammenfassung

CERN is seeking a Controls and Automation Engineer to advance HVAC, cooling, and hydraulic systems through dynamic modelling and advanced control techniques. You will apply data analytics and machine learning to monitor performance and support energy savings across the accelerator complex and CV infrastructure.

The role is onsite at CERN with 40-hour weeks, a 24-month contract (extendable to 36 months), and a competitive Swiss CHF stipend while exploring training and language courses.

Qualifikationen

• ≤ 2 years of professional experience since graduation in Automation and Controls.
• Highest educational qualification is Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• PhD not eligible; applicants without a university degree are not eligible.

Aufgaben

• Develop and validate dynamic simulation models of HVAC, cooling, ventilation, and hydraulic systems.
• Design, test, and implement control system improvements for energy efficiency, reliability, and stability.
• Apply data analytics, ML, and neural networks to support performance monitoring and optimization.
• Manage deployment, testing, commissioning, and verification of AI-based solutions on production plants.
• Produce technical studies and collaborate with operations to implement improvements.
• Model and simulate physical systems using EcosimPro, Matlab/Simulink, or similar tools.
• Experience in designing and commissioning industrial control systems.
