Job summary

CERN in Geneva, Switzerland invites applications for a Controls and Automation Engineer within EN-CV-CL to design, implement, test and maintain PLC-based control systems for cooling and ventilation installations. You will define requirements, develop software, configure and validate systems, and collaborate across engineering teams.

Required is a Master’s degree in Industrial Automation or related field, plus PLC/SCADA experience and knowledge of Siemens/Schneider platforms.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Industrial Automation or related field.
• Proficient in PLC-based control systems using IEC 61131-3.
• Experience with SCADA/HMI configuration and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Define control system requirements and functional specs for cooling and ventilation.
• Design, develop, test, and validate PLC applications for installations.
• Configure, test, commission, maintain and upgrade control systems over their lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project leaders, engineers, operators and stakeholders.
• Produce complete, up‑to‑date technical documentation.
