Alentis Therapeutics, the Claudin-1 Company, is seeking a Research Associate to support preclinical and clinical-stage programs focused on fibrotic and inflammatory diseases. You will develop, optimize, and execute functional, biochemical, and cell-based assays to characterize the pharmacology of therapeutic antibodies.

The role includes designing discovery studies, data reporting, and presenting at meetings.

Qualifikationen

• MSc in fibrosis, immunology, molecular biology, or related field.
• Biotech/pharma experience is a plus.
• Experience in fibrosis and inflammation research, incl. cholangiocyte biology and senescence is a plus.
• Experience in biochemistry, cell culture, and immunoassays.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and prioritization skills.
• Excellent English communication; team player; adaptable.

Alentis Therapeutics, the Claudin-1 Company, is on a mission to treat cancer and reverse fibrosis. To this end, we are rapidly advancing a clinical pipeline of anti-Claudin-1 monoclonal antibodies. Our team is committed to unlocking the broad potential of our therapeutic target Claudin-1 and bringing much-needed medicines to patients suffering from solid tumors as well as kidney, liver, and lung fibrosis.

Tasks

The Research Associate is responsible for supporting preclinical and clinical-stage research programs focused on fibrotic and inflammatory diseases. The role involves the development, optimization, and execution of functional, biochemical, and cell-based assays to characterize the pharmacology of therapeutic antibodies and investigate their mechanisms of action.

• Design and conduct discovery research to validate target biology, elucidate the mechanism of action and optimize the activity of the therapeutic agents.
• Use a diverse range of complementary methods and readouts in a variety of functional assays to assess the safety and efficacy of drug development compounds.
• Contribute to optimization of programs using methods encompassing all aspects of drug discovery.
• Oversee cell culture activities of various human and mouse cell lines, molecular, biochemical and cell-based assays.
• Summarize/report data and generate presentation materials. Present at internal and external meetings.
• Ensure recording and traceability of scientific data.

Requirements

• MSc. in fibrosis, immunology, molecular biology, biotechnology or a comparable discipline.
• Experience in biotech/pharma industry is a plus.
• Experience in fibrosis and inflammation research, with a background in cholangiocyte biology and cell senescence is a plus.
• Experience in biochemistry, cell culture, immunoassays, setting up and develop new assays.
• Good organizational skills.
• Maintenance of detailed experimental documentation.
• Excellent planning and organizing skills, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Office package and data analysis in Excel and GraphPad prism.
• Flexible, proactive, efficient, and with a problem-solving attitude.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English a must Team player and able to quickly adapt to changes.

Candidate needs to hold a Swiss working permit or be an EU citizen eligible to work in Switzerland. The work location is Allschwil, Switzerland with 2 days home office possibility. Contract duration is 9 months.
