Threema, the world’s best-selling secure messenger, seeks a Communication Manager (80%) to cover maternity leave in Pfäffikon SZ starting Oct 1, 2026, through Mar 31, 2027. You will craft German/English content, edit translations, and oversee our blog, FAQs, and public channels.

Join a small, motivated team with flexible hours, two days remote per week, and opportunities to influence data protection and online security communications for millions of users.

Qualifikationen

• Completed degree or professional education in communication, PR, or journalism, or professional experience in a communication role.
• Strong feel for language, excellent spelling and grammar, and patience to refine text until every word is right.
• Excellent writing skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly and accessibly.
• Ability to work within guidelines while contributing creative ideas.
• Excellent German and very good English; French/Spanish are a plus.
• Reliable, passionate team player.

Our growing user base includes millions of private customers and thousands of businesses and organizations from all over the world.

We are looking for a Communication Manager (80%) to cover a maternity leave and join our communication team from October 2026 through the end of March 2027.

Your Tasks

• Write a wide range of texts in German and English, with a strong sense of style and a clear focus on the target audience. This includes technical documentation, newsletters, websites, canned responses, app content, release notes, blog posts, social media posts, and more
• Edit and proofread German texts, and translate them into English with a high degree of accuracy and attention to style
• Take ownership of content areas such as our blog and FAQs
• Manage our public communication channels, including our blog, Threema Channel, X, Mastodon, Bluesky, Reddit, newsletters, and press distribution lists
• Coordinate the translation of content into other languages, particularly French and Spanish
• Support our public relations activities and maintain relationships with external stakeholders
• Keep an eye on social, political, and legal developments related to data protection, online security, and instant messaging, and develop appropriate communication measures where needed

Your Skills

• A completed degree or professional education in communication, PR, or journalism, or professional experience in a communication role
• A strong feel for language, excellent spelling and grammar, and the patience to keep refining a text until every word is right
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and in an accessible way
• The ability to work within established guidelines while also contributing creative and unconventional ideas
• Excellent German and very good English skills; French and/or Spanish are a plus

• An interest in Internet services, apps, and/or mobile communications is a plus
