ARTIDIS AG, Basel-based clinical-stage health-tech startup, seeks a Clinical Scientist to join the Clinical Operations team. You will work on-site at Basel hospitals, help collect and reconcile clinical and pathological data, and support study documentation for US sites.

You will review CRFs, translate medical data into analysis-ready entries, and provide medical context for data analytics in collaboration with data scientists and statisticians.

Qualifikationen

ARTIDIS AG is a clinical-stage health-tech start-up founded in Basel, Switzerland, that has developed the first nanomechanical biomarker for cancer diagnosis and treatment optimization. The ARTIDIS nanotechnology platform integrates different types of clinical data into the ARTIDISNET digital platform, allowing physicians to significantly shorten the current diagnostic process and benefit both the patient and the healthcare system. ARTIDIS enables professionals to design personalized cancer treatment plans tailored to individual patients' needs and desired outcomes.

Job Purpose

The Clinical Scientist is an integral part of the Clinical Operations team and brings a practical medical perspective to study protocols, Case Report Forms, and the collection and interpretation of clinical and pathological data.

This is not a bench research role. You will work primarily at clinical sites in the Basel area and help inform clinical research sites in the US, collaborating closely with hospital teams to ensure that clinical and pathological data are complete, medically coherent, and suitable for study analyses and documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical and Pathological Data Collection

• Support clinical data collection on-site at ARTIDIS study locations, working with investigators, study coordinators, surgeons, pathologists, laboratory staff, and other key hospital stakeholders.
• Collect, verify, and reconcile clinical information in the electronic data capture platform from medical records, laboratory reports, imaging reports, and other source documents in accordance with the study protocol.
• Support the collection and structured documentation of pathological data, including tissue and sample identifiers, histology, tumor type, grade, stage, and biomarker or receptor status, as applicable.
• Help ensure that tissue-related and pathological information can be linked reliably to the corresponding patient, specimen, measurement, and respective study data.

eCRF & Clinical Data Management

• Review Case Report Forms (CRFs), ensuring questions are medically meaningful, unambiguous, and aligned with the study protocol.
• Perform structured data quality reviews, identify inconsistencies, missing data points, and protocol deviations in clinical datasets.
• Translate medical source data (lab reports, pathology findings, imaging) into structured, analysis-ready data entries.

Medical Data Review and Analysis Support

• Perform medically informed data reviews of uploaded or digitally annotated data to identify missing, inconsistent, or clinically implausible entries and support the resolution of data queries with study sites and internal teams.
• Provide medical context for the analysis and interpretation of clinical and pathological datasets in collaboration with data analysts and scientists, statisticians, and Clinical Operations colleagues.
• Contribute to clinically meaningful tables, summaries, and study conclusions while maintaining clear traceability to the source data and protocol.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD, any specialty), medical laboratory scientist or bio analyst qualification, or a comparable medical or health-science background with strong clinical or pathology exposure. An oncology focus is an advantage.
• Clinical research experience, including contributing to a data lock or database closure event.
• Hands-on experience in a hospital, clinical laboratory, pathology, or comparable clinical environment and confidence to collaborate with clinical site personnel.
• A practical understanding of how clinical and pathological data are generated, documented, reviewed, and interpreted; experience in oncology is a strong advantage.
• Ability to evaluate protocols and CRFs from a medical perspective, or strong transferable experience that demonstrates the ability to do so.
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and a structured, hands-on approach to data quality and problem solving.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice and ICH E6 principles.
• Experience in pathology or histology and confidence in reading and interpreting pathology reports.
• Experience with oncology clinical trials or studies involving medical devices or in vitro diagnostics.
• Experience with EDC/eCRF systems, clinical data review, data query management, or clinical data management processes.
