Job summary

The World Meteorological Organization in Geneva is seeking an Assistant Project Officer to support extrabudgetary climate projects, including the IKI-funded CISTA program. You will assist in monitoring workplans, tracking expenditures, and coordinating with partners to ensure timely delivery.

You will work under the Scientific and Project Officer, engage with regional offices, prepare background documents, and help build synergies with other UN agencies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in international development, business administration or climate-related topics.
• A first-level university degree with two years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the master’s.
• Knowledge of project management tools and ability to monitor budgets.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to implementing the CISTA project and other technical projects.
• Monitor workplans and assess delivery within time and cost constraints.
• Track and manage project expenditures per budgets and UN rules.
• Maintain regular communication with partners and stakeholders.
• Prepare background documents, project agreements and reports.
