Job summary

Swiss Air-Rescue Rega Basel base at EuroAirport Basel is seeking a new team member to join our 24/7 air-rescue operations. As a certified paramedic, you will provide medical care in flight, support safe helicopter operations, and operate the rescue winch, collaborating closely with pilots and emergency physicians.

We value teamwork, resilience, and a strong technical mindset, with an interest in alpine rescue and safe behavior in rough terrain.

Qualifications

• HF paramedic certification required.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in a Swiss rescue service.
• Strong teamwork, service orientation, and resilience.
• Enthusiasm for technology and strong technical understanding.
• Interest in alpine rescue and safe terrain behavior.
• Experience with intensive care patients, including pediatric patients.
• German native, fluent in French and good English.
• Residence in the Basel region; age 30–45.

Responsibilities

• Provide situation-appropriate medical care in cooperation with the emergency physician.
• Ensure safe and smooth flight operations as a crew member.
• Assist with helicopter operations jointly with the pilot.
• Operate the rescue winch.
• Support 24-hour operations with deployment on demand.
• Maintain contact with partners and participate in expert committees.

Swiss Air-Rescue Rega provides professional, 24/7 medical assistance from the air to patients in Switzerland and worldwide. It is a non-profit, private foundation supported by more than 3.7 million donors.

These activities will excite you

• Situation-appropriate medical care for patients in cooperation with the emergency physician.
• Ensuring safe and smooth flight operations as a crew member
• Operational tasks in the helicopter in cooperation with the pilot
• Operation of the rescue winch
• Taking on a variety of general tasks on a deployment basis to ensure 24-hour operation.
• Maintaining contact with partners and participating in expert committees

• Completed training as a certified paramedic (HF)
• After completing the training, at least three years of professional experience in a Swiss rescue service is required.
• Teamwork skills, a strong service orientation, and mental and physical resilience
• Enthusiasm for technology and extensive technical understanding
• Interest in alpine rescue services and safe behavior in rough terrain
• Experience with patients requiring intensive care, including pediatric patients
• German as a native language, fluent in French and good English skills
• Between 30 and 45 years old
• Residence in the Basel region
