Gi Group is seeking a senior software engineer to drive the development and maintenance of a custom OS abstraction layer with a heavy C++ backend in a Linux environment for medical devices.

You will implement plugins exposing OS capabilities via an RPC API, contribute to an in-house Linux distribution for medical instruments, and ensure quality through unit/integration testing while managing Debian packaging and configurations. Strong English communication is required.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 10 years hands-on experience with modern C++.
• Master in Software Engineering or degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Team player with a can-do attitude, quick learner, problem solving ability.
• Advanced English communication of technical information to non-technical audiences.
• CVs uploaded in English; degree certificate and latest reference letter required.

Aufgaben

• Develop and maintain the custom OS abstraction layer, focusing on the C++ backend and the next-generation system daemon.
• Implement a comprehensive family of plugins to expose OS capabilities over an RPC API.
• Contribute to medical instrument and software projects, including the in-house Linux distribution for medical devices.
• Ensure system quality and maintainability via C++ unit and integration testing, refactoring legacy code, and Debian packaging/configurations.
