Roche in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, seeks an experienced Solution Engineer / Expert Linux Platform (80–100%) for an 12-month assignment starting as soon as possible (latest start: 01 October 2026). On-site/hybrid role with 80–100% workload, contributing to a Debian-based Linux platform powering next‑gen diagnostic devices.

You will own the Linux platform from kernel to release, optimize performance, and collaborate with software and hardware teams while maintaining high engineering standards.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of hands-on Linux engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of the Linux software stack.
• Experience building Debian-based distributions (debootstrap, molior, aptly).
• Strong Python and Shell automation skills.

Aufgaben

• Own the custom Debian-based Linux platform, including kernel customization, driver integration, Debian package creation, maintenance, and optimization.
• Design, maintain, and improve build, test, and release infrastructure for reliable software delivery.
• Serve as the technical expert for complex low-level Linux system issues across software and hardware.
• Consult and support internal development teams on Roche Linux platform usage and integration.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, security, automation and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional software and hardware teams to ensure a stable, scalable OS.
• Maintain high engineering standards through documentation and knowledge sharing.
