grape is seeking a Senior Brand Designer to shape our brand story and execute our new visual identity across digital and physical touchpoints. You will lead design projects from concept through delivery, ensuring brand guidelines are applied and campaigns are cohesive.
In a hybrid Zurich-based setup, bring strong typography, animation and creative direction to cross-functional teams, collaborate with freelancers, and own the narrative that makes grape feel human and distinctively us.
Our entrepreneurial spirit drives us in what we do and what we are passionate about. Our mission is to become the premier health partner in the insurance business. Recognising the need for innovation in the traditional employee insurance model we are set to revolutionize the employee insurance industry. We help companies support people before and after they get sick and to make more of their time. Our insurance solutions reduce monotonous and manual work for employees, doctors, HR & payroll managers. As we strive to lead a technology-driven transformation, we put employees first.
At grape we pride ourselves on our people and our culture. We continue to grow fast and that’s where you come in. Our team is dynamic, diverse and full of creative ideas. Want to join? We can’t wait to get to know you!
Hi there. Janine here. I know, this is unconventional… I'm deviating from the regular job description script. Why? Because this role is different. The starting point for this role is different. And we want to communicate that clearly.
If you browse our website and think, "amazing opportunity for a rebrand", we are not for you. Because here's the truth: what you just saw isn't a draft. It's not a v1. It's the result of a year spent getting the fundamentals right and building a visual foundation we believe in for the long term. What you saw is the floor, not the ceiling. It's the minimum bar for anything we ship from here on out. No rebrand. No reset. Just continuous improvement.
We're now at the point where we're looking to build up in-house design, and we need someone who can put the brand before personal signature, buy into what you just saw, execute on it with the same care it was built with, and then, over the years, shape its trajectory and help develop it further.
Who are you designing for, you ask? Three very different audiences: HR, the CFO, and, most importantly, the insured person. Not the easiest of brief, since most of the industry still talks to people like they're a policy number, especially at their hardest moments. We want to change that. This is why your work matters so much. At every touchpoint. You're not just making things look good. You're deciding what it feels like to face this system on a day when someone has less capacity than usual to deal with it.
That's the job: breathe life into our brand with your design skills and branding expertise, ensuring we deliver high-quality design solutions that connect with our audiences, feel distinctively human, and feel distinctively us.
The team, you ask?
At this stage of growth, most of us are generalists wearing many different hats each day. Outside of work, you might find us boating on the lake, snowboarding in Arosa, hiking in Appenzell, playing dress-up with our kids, or looking out the window in a classroom in Bern. A bunch of wonderful human beings, skilled in many different things in life. Each one is equally important in building this brand step by step, day by day.
P.S. No AI in the application process for this role! We look at every portfolio and read every cover letter. So, you are not wasting your time telling us why you want to join :)
We place particular emphasis on four areas when making our selection decision: professional and technical skills, mindset & values. We evaluate these through the following steps:
To get to know you better, we invite you to a 30-minute motivational interview with our Talent Acquisition Team.
In the first interview, we assess how well your qualifications and skills align with the role requirements. This discussion will take place with your Hiring Manager.
For roles with higher technical demands, we will invite you to complete a case study or technical assessment. This allows us to better evaluate your specific skills and problem-solving abilities.
Throughout the interview process, you'll gain insight into our company culture, and we'll explore how your values and mindset align with our ways of working. The final interview will offer a deeper look into this connection, along with broader discussions about the role and our vision.
Our diverse experiences, perspectives, and voices make us the company we are, and we would love to learn more about you!
