Nestlé Research in Lausanne, Switzerland is seeking a Bioprocess Engineer - Pilot Plant (DSP) to lead fermentation and downstream processing activities bridging lab-scale discovery and industrial manufacturing. The role requires collaboration with pilot plant teams, scientists, engineers, quality and safety specialists, and external partners to deliver sustainable innovations for people, pets, and the planet.

The position offers a fixed-term contract (2 years) with office-based, full-time work.

Qualifikationen

• Relevant experience in fermentation or bioprocessing environments, especially pilot or industrial-scale operations.
• Experience with scale-up and technology transfer to manufacturing.
• Strong analytical thinking and data-driven problem solving, with exposure to automation tools.

Aufgaben

• Leading pilot-scale bioprocess trials to translate research into scalable manufacturing.
• Optimizing fermentation media, feeding strategies and operating parameters for robust performance.
• Developing downstream processing approaches to improve yield, recovery and product quality.
• Building process understanding through data analysis and digital tools to support optimization and reproducibility.
• Ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality pilot plant operations through risk assessment and documentation.
• Shaping new biotech pilot plant capabilities by translating process needs into equipment and facilities.
