Job summary

Celonic Group is seeking a proactive leader to head the Pilot & Process Science team in the Biologics Development Center. You will oversee pilot-scale processes for biologics DS, guide biotechnicians and engineers, and drive technology transfer to manufacturing.

You will lead process design, execution, troubleshooting and documentation, ensuring alignment with S&OP, client commitments and Celonic’s strategic priorities while promoting QbD and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of pilot-scale or commercial production experience in biotechnological products.
• Experience in technology transfer between sites or from development/pilot scale to commercial manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of bioprocessing technologies including mammalian cell culture, USP and DSP, plus cGMP principles.
• Experience leading and coordinating small to mid-sized operational teams and multiple projects.
• Familiarity with QbD, statistics and data-driven optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the team of biotechnicians and process engineers, aligning objectives with Celonic’s strategy.
• Oversee design, execution, troubleshooting and documentation of pilot-scale processes for biologics DS.
• Plan and coordinate pilot plant activities and resources to ensure timely delivery of pilot batches.
• Support and coordinate technology transfer to commercial manufacturing facilities.
• Promote technical excellence and implement state-of-the-art technologies for biologics production.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution.
• Ensure quality, safety and good documentation practices in all activities.
• Drive continuous improvement to streamline operations and resource utilization.
