Job summary

Novartis Pharma AG in Basel seeks a Clinical Sciences Trial Leader (CSTL) to lead clinical pharmacology studies, including first-in-human trials, and to coordinate CRO partners across protocol development to CSR delivery. You will drive study start-up, data interpretation (PK/PD and safety), and cross-functional collaboration, while ensuring high-quality, timely results and compliance with ICH GCP.

This hybrid Basel role supports remote work up to two days per week and requires travel; salary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or healthcare required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in clinical pharmacology or early development with 2+ years in pharma.
• Experience leading FIH or clinical pharmacology studies and working with CROs.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for clinical pharmacology studies, including FIH and early-phase trials.
• Serve as independent CSTL in the Clinical Pharmacology team, accountable from protocol to CSR.
• Lead protocol synopsis development in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Act as Novartis point of contact to CROs, ensuring high quality study conduct.
• Coordinate internal cross-functional study teams and align CRO activities.
• Oversee study start-up, conduct and closeout, with key deliverable reviews.
