Job summary

Amazon Inc. in Zürich, Switzerland, seeks a Robotics Wireless & Network Engineer Intern for the RIVR team to work across hardware and software on autonomous delivery robotics. You will configure networks, characterize wireless links, and build monitoring to keep the fleet visible and secure.

The role combines advanced perception, machine learning, and simulation to push autonomous systems forward. You’ll collaborate with world-class engineers to solve real connectivity challenges across 4G/5G,

Qualifications

• BSc or higher in Telecommunications Engineering, Telematics Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Solid networking fundamentals across all TCP/IP stack.
• Hands-on experience with networking, robotics or drones.
• Comfortable working on Linux and Git.
• Scripting in Python/Golang and basic knowledge in C++
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn and contribute on complex real-world systems in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Network engineering: Configure and improve the robot's internal network (VLAN, NTP/PTP time sync, DHCP/DNS).
• Real-time traffic: Ensure ROS2/DDS, WebRTC and MQTT flows behave correctly on the network.
• Wireless and RF performance: Characterize cellular, Wi-Fi and satellite links in real-world conditions.
• Troubleshooting and documentation: Create connectivity baselines and update network diagrams and docs.
