Job summary

Embotech is seeking a Motion Planning Software Intern to join the Motion Planning and Controls team in Zurich. You will build full-stack L4 autonomous driving systems for private grounds, extending our core technology by designing, developing and testing motion planning software for Automated Terminal Tractor and Vehicle Marshalling applications.

The internship runs 6 months from March 2027. You will work with C++, Python or Matlab, test in simulation and on vehicles, write tests, document

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in a Master’s programme in robotics, mechanical or electrical engineering, computer science or a related field.
Solid knowledge of motion planning (search-, sampling- or optimisation-based) and MPC.
Proficiency in C++, Python or Matlab; familiar with Linux and Git.

Responsibilities

Develop algorithmic solutions to motion planning problems for L4 autonomous driving and deploy on real vehicles.
Explore optimisation-based and learning-based approaches within our stack.
Write modern C++ or Matlab code with up-to-date AI tools and best practices.
Create automated tests and tooling to evaluate and improve algorithms.
Test work in simulation and on our vehicles; document designs and results clearly.
Collaborate with the Motion Planning and Controls team and support day-to-day development.
