Ekium Switzerland seeks an Automation Engineer / Technical Leader to shape automation projects in biotech and pharma sectors. You will lead design studies, code automation systems, and ensure testing and commissioning meet client specs.

Strong PLC/DCS experience and English proficiency are essential. The role requires guiding engineers, defining coding standards, and coordinating with clients across fixed-price projects in demanding environments.

Competenze

• Holds a Federal VET Diploma in Automation Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years’ automation experience on fixed-price projects.
• Strong PLC programming and DCS knowledge; able to work in demanding environments.

As an Automation Engineer / Technical Leader M/F within our Ekip Switzerland, you will work on industrial projects in cutting-edge sectors (biotech, pharma…).

Your responsibilities will notably include:

• Analysing and understanding the technical constraints of client specifications
• Leading design studies and the implementation of automation systems
• Writing general and detailed functional specifications
• Defining and maintaining programming standards within the team
• Developing and supervising automation systems (including coding)
• Setting up and validating testing methods, while writing test protocols
• Managing the acceptance and commissioning phases with the client
• Providing technical supervision to engineers and technicians in the project team depending on project size
• Participating in client commissioning
• Producing minutes of internal and external meetings for clients

Profile

You hold a Federal VET Diploma in Automation Engineering, industrial computing or electrical engineering, and have at least 5 years’ experience in automation in a similar environment on fixed-price projects.

Your technical skills include mastery of programmable logic controllers (Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell...) as well as supervision tools (Aveva System Platform, WinCC, Ifix…).

A good knowledge of DCS systems (PCS7 or DELTAV, …) would be an asset.

Meticulous and organised, you have strong writing skills and know how to manage stress effectively in demanding environments.
