Job summary

Celerion in Fehraltorf/Zurich seeks an (Associate) Scientist to develop and validate ligand-binding and cell-based bioanalytical assays for preclinical and clinical studies. The role covers design, execution, data interpretation, and regulatory compliance within a GLP-certified environment.

Two levels exist; Associate Scientist requires 2+ years in Life Sciences with a diploma or BSc,Scientist level requires MSc/PhD with similar experience. English is required; German is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Laboratory diploma EFZ or BSc/MSc in Life Sciences required
• MSc/PhD in Life Sciences required for Scientist level, with 2+ years experience
• Experience with bioanalytical techniques (ELISA, MSD/ECL, AlphaLISA, Gyrolab) preferred
• Experience with cell-based assays is an advantage
• GxP environment experience is an advantage
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; English fluent; German helpful

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate ligand-binding assays and cell-based assays for bioanalysis in preclinical/clinical studies
• Design, execute and interpret experiments; document according to SOPs
• Identify and resolve technical issues in assay development/validation
• Support assay development strategies and new technologies at Scientist level
• Ensure GxP compliance with EMA, FDA, ICH guidelines
• Engage with internal stakeholders and, at Scientist level, with clients to understand requirements
• Ensure timely delivery of projects

Our GLP-certified bioanalytical laboratory in Fehraltorf plays a key role in preclinical and clinical drug development by delivering high-quality bioanalytical data that advances life-changing therapies.

To strengthen our bioanalytical laboratory in the Ligand Binding Service Team in Fehraltorf / Zurich, we are looking for an

(Associate) Scientist (100%)

This is a dual-level posting. The hiring team will determine the final level and title of the role based on the skills, experience, and capabilities required for the level offered.

Main responsibilities

• Develop and validate ligand-binding and, depending on experience,cell-based assays to support bioanalysis (pharmacokinetics, biomarkers, immunogenicity assessment) for preclinical and clinical studies. At the Associated Scientist level, support regulated sample analysis
• Design, execute and interpret experiments and document work according to Celerion's standards
• Identify and resolve technical issues encountered during assay development and validation.
• At the Scientist level, contribute to assay development strategies and implement new technologies
• Maintain GxP compliance in accordance with internal SOPs and regulatory guidelines (e.g. EMA, FDA, ICH)
• Engage effectively with internal stakeholders. At the Scientist level, work closely with clients to understand project requirements and provide regular project updates.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects

Our requirements

• Laboratory technician diploma (Laborant:in EFZ, Biology/Chemistry) or BSc / MSc in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Immunology or related field for the Associate Scientist Level; at least 2 years professional experience with an apprenticeship or BSc degree
• MSc or PhD in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Immunology or related field for the Scientist Level; at least 2 years professional experience with an MSc degree
• Practical experience in relevant bioanalytical techniques (e.g. ELISA, MSD/ECL, AlphaLISA, Gyrolab), preferably within an industry setting
• Experience in developing flow cytometry, ELISpot, or qPCR methods is required for the Scientist level.
• Experience with cell-based assays and/or cell culture techniques is an advantage
• Experience working in a GxP environment is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects
• Highly self-motivated, reliable, and flexible, with a commitment to providing excellent service to clients.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a team-oriented mindset
• Business fluent English (written and spoken), good German skills are advantageous
