Job summary

Schellenberg Wittmer Ltd. in Geneva seeks a Swiss-qualified lawyer to strengthen our Banking & Finance Group. You will contribute to regulatory matters for banks and asset managers and work in a diverse, international team in our Geneva office.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of relevant experience, fluent English and French, and good German. Excellent academics and references are essential for this role in a leading Swiss law firm with strong client mix.

Qualifications

• Swiss-qualified lawyer.
• 2–3 years of Banking & Finance law experience preferred in a law firm or authority.
• Strong interest in banking & finance law and willingness to develop expertise.
• Experience in top-tier law firms or in-house with banks, asset managers or regulators is a plus.
• Fluent in English and French; good understanding of German; excellent academic qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory advice on Banking & Finance matters for Swiss and international clients.
• Advise banks, asset managers and financial institutions on regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate in a dynamic, international Geneva-based team within the Banking and Finance Group.

We are currently looking for a lawyer to strengthen our team in the field of:

Financial Regulation & Investment Management

Our Banking and Finance Group comprises more than 20 qualified Swiss lawyers with an in-depth understanding of the regulatory environment of all types of financial institutions and the domestic and international financial markets. We act regularly on behalf of Swiss and foreign banks and other financial institutions, such as investment firms, insurance companies, fund management companies and asset managers, across a broad range of regulatory matters.

This position is based in our Geneva office.

We are seeking candidates who meet the following requirements:

• You are a Swiss‑qualified lawyer;
• You have ideally 2 to 3 years of professional experience practicing Banking & Finance law in a law firm or an authority;
• You have a strong interest in banking & financial law and are motivated to develop expertise in this field;
• You have previous experience (including internship in preparation for the bar exam) practicing banking & financial law in a top‑tier law firm or in‑house (banks, asset managers, regulators and/or international law firms).
• You are fluent in English and in French and have a good understanding of German;
• You have excellent academic qualifications and references.
