Job summary

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking an Associate in the General Archives in Geneva to support digitisation and data-driven activities. You will help classify records, contribute to the ontology, and assist researchers with access requests while developing metadata and workflows.

Start date 4 January 2027, 12-month assignment, gross CHF salary 3,934 monthly (paid in 13 installments).

Qualifications

• Degree from a university in archival or related field.
• Excellent written and spoken English and French at C1.
• Knowledge of archival/records management and preservation.
• Strong digital archiving skills and interest in metadata.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support selection, classification, and cataloging of records.
• Assist ontology development and metadata mapping.
• Support access and research requests.
• Data entry, metadata cleaning, and taxonomy standardization.
• Participate in testing digital preservation strategies and backups.
• Help update documentation and workflows for preservation.
