Job summary

Rieter in Winterthur, Switzerland, seeks an Application Engineer - Technology Preparation to support next-generation preparation machines across R&D, trials, and customer sites.

You will combine hands-on machine know-how with textile process knowledge, working with cross-functional teams and global customers. Fluent English is mandatory; German is an advantage. Travel up to 30% is expected. The position offers opportunities in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Technical background in textile engineering or related field with practical machine knowledge.
• Experience with combing and drawframe technologies preferred.
• Fluent English required; German language skills are advantageous.
• Experience in textile machinery or spinning mills desirable.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate opportunities for next-generation preparation machines.
• Contribute to R&D activities and trials from carded sliver to yarn.
• Perform machine conversions, modifications, and adjustments on research machines.
• Test and validate machine concepts, software features, and components.
• Document results and suggest product/process improvements.
• Provide 3rd-level technical support to Service Engineers and customers.
• Support troubleshooting and performance improvements on installed machines.
• Plan and evaluate lifetime testing and reliability data.
