Rieter in Winterthur seeks a Senior Network Security Engineer to design, build and operate global network security infrastructure, protecting against cybersecurity threats and ensuring secure connectivity.

You will lead projects, manage firewall and VPN services, and provide tier-2/3 support while aligning with global standards and driving continuous improvement in security architectures.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or HF in Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least seven years of enterprise network and/or network security engineering experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation and IPSec.
• Strong IT network security knowledge: IDPS, NAC, cloud security, wireless security.
• Experience managing Huawei and Cisco LAN/WLAN components.
• Understanding of ISP and data centre environments (routing, switching, MPLS, BGP).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent English in writing and speaking.

Senior Network Security Engineer

Your Tasks

• Design, build and operate global network security infrastructure and solutions to protect against cybersecurity threats.
• Manage and continuously improve firewall, VPN, network segmentation and secure connectivity services.
• Provide second- and third-level support for network security infrastructure and services.
• Analyze internal customer requirements and develop secure, scalable network security solutions.
• Ensure compliance with global architecture, configuration and security standards.
• Continuously improve the design, performance and reliability of existing network security environments
• Lead and contribute to network security projects, including infrastructure and service lifecycle activities, cloud connectivity and security architecture improvements.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HF in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related Engineering field or a technical training program
• At least seven years of experience in enterprise network and/or network security engineering.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation and IPSec
• Very good knowledge of IT Network Security Technologies (Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS), Network Access Control (NAC), Cloud network security and Wireless Security)
• Good experience in managing Huawei and Cisco LAN and WLAN components
• Good understanding of ISP and data centre environments (routing, switching, MPLS, BGP, load balancers)
• Strong understanding of infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, IP)
• Solid experience in the architecture, implementation, and further development of complex network security solutions
• Strong hands-on experience in network security monitoring and troubleshooting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Very good oral and written English skills
• Strong communication skills in an international environment
