Job summary

ParetoLabs in Zürich seeks an experienced (Senior) AI Project Manager to lead AI projects for clients from discovery to production. You will translate business problems into use cases, scope, and success criteria, and steer delivery with our engineers to create real value in Swiss industry.

Responsibilities include planning budgets and timelines, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance and data protection.

Qualifications

• Several years of project management in software, data or digital transformation projects.
• Solid understanding of AI concepts (LLMs, RAG, AI agents) and their limits.
• Familiarity with software architecture and cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure).
• Proven agile delivery experience and ability to translate ambiguity into concrete plans.
• Experience with business/IT stakeholders including senior management.

ParetoLabs is looking for an experienced and structured (Senior) AI Project Manager to lead AI projects for our clients from first idea to production. As part of our dynamic team, you will be the link between our clients, our engineers and the AI technologies we build with. You will scope projects, steer delivery and make sure what we ship creates real value in Swiss companies across a wide range of industries. About ParetoLabs ParetoLabs is a Zurich-based software studio that develops customized, AI-powered applications for conversational and text-processing use cases. We help companies quickly test, implement, and scale AI applications within their specific business environments. Founded in 2023, ParetoLabs is a Microsoft for Startups partner that combines innovative AI technologies with the individual requirements of Swiss companies. Tasks Lead AI projects end to end — retrieval assistants, copilots and agents — from discovery and scoping to rollout and operation. Translate business problems into clear use cases, requirements and success criteria together with our clients. Plan and steer delivery with our engineering team: scope, timeline, budget, risks and priorities. Define how quality is measured and make sure solutions are evaluated before and after go-live. Work with client stakeholders on data, security, compliance and change management. Collaborate closely with our multicultural team and bring your own ideas to projects with real-world impact. Requirements Experience: Several years of project management in software, data or digital transformation projects; AI or data projects are a strong plus. AI Understanding: A solid grasp of how large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and AI agents work, what they are good at and where they fail. Technical Foundation: Enough understanding of software architecture and cloud infrastructure (ideally Microsoft Azure) to discuss solutions with engineers and client IT and security teams. Methods: Confident with agile delivery and with structuring ambiguous problems into concrete plans. Stakeholder Management: Experience working with business and IT stakeholders up to management level, including managing expectations about what AI can and cannot do. Data & Compliance: Awareness of data protection (Swiss FADP, GDPR) and information security in client projects. Communication Skills: Excellent German and English, written and spoken. Mindset: Structured, hands-on and curious, with the ownership to bring projects over the finish line.
