Job summary

Lonza Basel seeks an experienced AI Products Lead to drive the AI product portfolio across the value chain. This role collaborates with business leaders to identify, shape, build, and scale AI products delivering measurable business outcomes.

The role is primarily on site with up to 20% remote work available case-by-case. You will own the lifecycle from opportunity identification to delivery, adoption, scaling, and retirement, partnering with AI Factory, technology teams, and business

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in a relevant field.
• Significant experience in AI product management or technology-driven transformation.
• Proven ability to take AI products from concept to implementation and adoption.
• Strong understanding of AI, Generative AI, product lifecycle, and portfolio prioritization.

Job description

Location: Basel, Switzerland | Hybrid Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

We are seeking an experienced AI Products Lead to drive Lonza's AI product portfolio across the value chain. In this strategic role, you will work closely with business and functional leaders to identify, shape, build, and scale AI products that deliver measurable business outcomes. You will own the product lifecycle from opportunity identification and prioritization through delivery, adoption, scaling, and retirement, partnering with the AI Factory, technology teams, and business stakeholders to maximize value creation. This role is primarily based on site. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards. We offer flexibility to work remotely for no more than 20% of your time. Requests are considered on a case‑by‑case basis, in line with business needs.

What you'll do:

• Partner with business and functional leaders to identify, evaluate, and prioritize high-value AI opportunities that deliver measurable business impact.
• Own the end-to-end AI product lifecycle, including strategy, roadmap development, prioritization, delivery, adoption, scaling, and retirement.
• Translate business challenges into scalable AI products and use cases that enhance efficiency, innovation, and decision-making.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration between business stakeholders, AI specialists, data teams, IT, and external partners to ensure successful product delivery.
• Establish product management best practices, including governance, success metrics, value realization tracking, and portfolio management.
• Drive user adoption and change management activities to maximize the value and scalability of AI solutions across the organization.
• Ensure AI products comply with responsible AI principles, data governance requirements, security standards, and regulatory expectations.

What we're looking for:

• Master's degree in Business Strategy, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Significant experience in AI product management, digital product leadership, or technology-driven business transformation within complex organizations.
• Proven ability to take AI products from concept to implementation, driving adoption, scalability, and measurable business value.
• Strong understanding of AI, Generative AI, product lifecycle management, agile methodologies, and portfolio prioritization.
• Experience working across business, data, technology, and engineering teams, with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI principles, data management, security, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, CDMO, or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable.
