Job summary

Vontobel seeks a Compliance Operations Engineer / Application Specialist to own and evolve complex AML and sanctions screening platforms. You will support end-to-end operations, upgrade cycles, and API-driven integrations with internal banking apps while partnering with Compliance SMEs.

You will shape AI-enabled tooling, automate investigations, and ensure auditability, traceability, and regulatory compliance across the technology stack. Zurich-based with global impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably within financial services or a regulated environment.
• Hands-on experience with API development and system implementation.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical lifecycle of screening platforms including sanctions, PEP, adverse media and transaction screening solutions.
• Integrate external screening providers and internal banking applications through APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Identify and implement AI-driven solutions to support business and engineering objectives.
• Drive automation and operational excellence across screening and investigation processes.
