Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich is seeking an AI for Science Engineer to build frontier AI systems that accelerate research. You will partner with ETH labs to design agentic workflows, curate data, and orchestrate multi-step pipelines under cost and latency constraints.

The role emphasizes end-to-end system deployment, model optimization, and collaboration with external partners. You will contribute to open-source recipes and stay at the edge of agentic AI.

Qualifikationen

• Experience building and deploying agentic or LLM-based systems end to end.
• Strong software and systems engineering skills: services, APIs, data pipelines, containers, CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML tooling (LLM APIs, agent frameworks, PyTorch, HuggingFace).
• Experience with GPU computing and distributed computing environments.
• Excellent communication bridging researchers and engineers.
• Fluency in English.

Aufgaben

• Partner with research labs to identify high-impact use cases for agentic AI.
• Build planning and orchestration components turning goals into executable workflows.
• Make systems traceable: inspectable runs, reproducible results.
• Support data preparation and model deployment including fine-tuning and efficient inference.
• Contribute to evaluation, benchmarking, and open-source recipes.
• Stay at frontier of agentic AI and advise research teams.
• Contribute to teaching and student projects.
