Job summary

kumai GmbH in Zollikon is seeking a motivated intern for 6 months (80–100% workload) to design and develop AI-enabled software, from data model to front end. You will tackle client projects from concept to production, work on AI & agentic systems, data & BI, and create Power BI dashboards.

The role also offers project ownership, business development commissions, and close collaboration with partners. On-site work with flexible hours and a clear path to a permanent position awaits the right

Qualifications

• Technical background in computer science, BIS or related field with affinity for business and AI.
• Experience in full-stack development is a plus.
• Understanding of architectures, data and BI, ideally MS stack.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, initiative and client-focused communication; fluent German and English.
• Interest in financial services, banking or finance is a plus.
• Willingness to work on site in Zollikon; remote work possible but permanent residence abroad is not.

Role and responsibilities

Location: Zollikon (Zurich area)

Workload: 80–100%

Duration: 6 months

Start: As soon as possible, preferably 1 November 2026

What to expect

• Full-Stack Development: You design and develop AI-enabled software solutions, from the data model to the front end. This is at the core of our work.

• Solution Building: You solve challenges from client projects, from concept through to production use.

• AI & Agentic Systems: RAG pipelines, knowledge assistants and agent-based teams (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor).

• Data & BI: Data models, ETL processes and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI / Fabric.

• Projects & Business Development: You take ownership of project work and contribute to business development and pitches, with commission participation.

Qualifications and Skills

• A technical background in computer science, business information systems or a comparable field, combined with an affinity for business, or a business background such as a commercial apprenticeship, business administration or a comparable field, combined with an affinity for technology and AI.

• Experience in full-stack development is an advantage, ideally with projects or solutions you can show us.

• An understanding of system architectures, data and business intelligence, ideally within the Microsoft technology stack.

• An entrepreneurial mindset, initiative and open, client-centred communication. Fluency in German and English.

• An interest in or experience within financial services, banking and finance.

• Willingness to work regularly on site in Zollikon (Zurich area). Remote work is possible, but permanent residence abroad is not.
