Job summary

Interroll Group in Switzerland seeks an AI Architect to lead the design and implementation of our enterprise AI foundation. You will shape platforms, patterns, and governance enabling business teams to build secure, scalable, and production-ready AI applications.

Initially you will combine architecture with hands-on delivery, validating architectural decisions through real-world delivery. Later, focus shifts toward governance, standardisation, and enterprise enablement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise AI architectures in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents, and orchestration frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and enterprise knowledge retrieval.
• Experience designing API-first and event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of ERP/CRM/PLM and document management systems.
• Knowledge of AI governance, security, GDPR, auditability, and responsible AI.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the enterprise AI Reference Architecture.
• Build reusable AI patterns, including RAG, AI agents, orchestration, and enterprise integrations.
• Define architecture standards, governance principles, and vendor-independent AI capabilities.
• Design and implement enterprise AI platforms (Azure OpenAI Foundry, Amazon Bedrock, or equivalent).
• Develop secure AI data access, knowledge retrieval, and MCP-based integration services.
• Collaborate with Data Governance to ensure quality, security, and compliance.
• Define secure, compliant AI architectures aligned with GDPR and the EU AI Act.
• Establish governance models, risk controls, and AI technology standards.
• Advise business and IT teams on AI architecture and best practices.
• Create reusable design patterns, documentation, and enable AI adoption across the organisation.

Rather than focusing on individual AI solutions, you will create the platforms, patterns, and governance that allow business teams to develop secure, scalable, and production-ready AI applications.

During the initial phase, you will combine architecture with hands-on implementation, helping establish our AI ecosystem while validating architectural decisions through real-world delivery. As our AI capability matures, your focus will progressively shift toward governance, standardisation, and enterprise enablement.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the enterprise AI Reference Architecture.
• Build reusable AI patterns, including RAG, AI agents, orchestration, and enterprise integrations.
• Define architecture standards, governance principles, and vendor-independent AI capabilities.

Required

• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, and orchestration frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and enterprise knowledge retrieval.
• Experience designing API-first and event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, PLM, and document management systems.
• Knowledge of AI governance, security, GDPR, auditability, and responsible AI.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• Experience with SAP Business AI, Joule, or SAP ecosystem integration.
• Knowledge of the EU AI Act.
• Experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or logistics organisations.
