The successful candidate will report to the Finance Operations Director Central Europe, collaborate with internal and external auditors, and drive process improvements across accounting functions and system migrations.

Overview

The Accountant role is responsible for finance operations of Switzerland (GL, AR, AP, FA) under statutory and US GAAP. This role will be also responsible for preparation and analyzing financial reports to make sure they reflect correct and reliable financial position of the company.

The role will be reporting directly to Finance Operations Director Central Europe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain financial transactions and ensure their accuracy and quality
• Incoming and outgoing payment posting/preparation followed up by bank reconciliation
• Performing closing entries and documentation in accordance with internal control guidelines.
• Process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy with capturing of information
• Preparing statutory financial statements and group reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) in compliance with statutory and US GAAP requirements
• Periodical reporting (OneStream)
• Managing balance sheet accounts, receivables, and payables, as well as fixed asset and lease accounting.
• Working with external and internal auditors
• Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems
• Managing ad hoc projects such as system migrations and the implementation of new processes

Education and Experience

• Degree in accounting & finance, 4+ years’ experience in accounting and finance
• Experience in preparing financial statements in compliance with local accounting standards and US GAAP
• Strong knowledge of accounting and tax law
• Fluency in English and French written and spoken

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with data entry processing within web-based ERP systems (Sage) and online banking.
• Ability to move quickly through numerous order entry steps with accuracy while paying close attention to details.
• Proven ability to follow through and resolve issues.
• Must have strong attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team-oriented philosophy is a must with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work on a flexible schedule, according to activity and volume.
