The Institute for International Business Law (IBL), part of the Faculty of Law at the University of Fribourg, is looking for an experienced Academic Operations Manager to join our international team. The IBL is a leader in postgraduate international business law education in Switzerland and internationally. Our LL.M. and CAS programs bring together students, academics, and practitioners from around the world in a dynamic and highly international environment.

Reporting directly to the Executive & Academic Director, you will join a core team of five, supported by a student affairs team.

The Role

You will play a central role in the smooth running of our academic programs and student lifecycle, combining academic operations, student services, administration, and systems support.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating program administration, schedules, examinations, grades, and graduation processes.
• Supporting students, professors, and lecturers throughout the academic cycle.
• Maintaining reliable academic records, documentation, statistics, and reporting.
• Supporting and continuously improving the IBL's IT systems, digital tools, and workflows.
• Identifying opportunities to simplify and automate processes, including through the responsible use of AI.
• Taking ownership of operational priorities and working closely with the Executive & Academic Director and the wider IBL team.

Your Profile

You bring:

• Around five years of relevant experience, ideally in higher education, program management, or a comparable administrative environment.
• A business degree from a Swiss or international university or an equivalent education
• Fluency in English and French; German is an advantage.
• Experience working in an international and multicultural environment.
• Excellent IT and systems skills and an early adopter of AI solutions.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership and intercultural skills.
• The ability to take ownership, prioritize and work independently with limited supervision.
• An existing right to work in Switzerland.
