The Badi Glarus (Ygruben Swimming Pool) invites applicants for a fixed-term seasonal lifeguard role from May to September 2027. The position requires lifeguard certification, ability to supervise outdoor pool operations, and willingness to work weekends and holidays in a small, dedicated team.
We offer a supportive training environment, course fee coverage, and a meaningful role ensuring guests of all ages swim safely and enjoy the historic lido with alpine views.
The Badi Glarus (Ygruben Swimming Pool) has been the historic outdoor swimming complex of the municipality of Glarus since 1922 – with a listed north wing and a history stretching back over 100 years. It is a meeting place for all generations: for families with young children, school groups, sports enthusiasts and pensioners. The Pro Badi Glarus association, with around 350 members, will continue to run the facility from 2027 onwards under a service agreement with the municipality. In accordance with our articles of association, our aim is to preserve, promote and further develop a publicly accessible swimming pool, to provide leisure and social activities that bring people of all ages together, and to ensure broad and affordable access for the entire population. Supervision at the poolside is the most important factor in ensuring that all our guests feel safe – from toddlers to grandmothers.
People without a current certificate are also welcome to apply. Anyone who meets the personal requirements (good swimming ability, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to keep a clear head in difficult situations) and is prepared to complete the training in time for the start of the season will have a chance with us.
The club will support you with your training and cover the course fees (certificate, BLS-AED, refresher courses).
It would be ideal for the course to start in January/February 2027.
