Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) is seeking auxiliary on-call staff to provide overnight extreme weather shelter support for youth and young adults in Surrey, BC. About the Program

The Emergency Weather Shelter operates out of the City Centre Youth Hub (CCYH) in Surrey and provides short‑term overnight shelter for youth/young adults ages 13–24 during periods of extreme weather. The shelter operates seasonally from November through March and opens when an extreme weather alert is issued for the City of Surrey. When open, the program provides up to 10 overnight mats in response to weather conditions that pose a substantial risk to the health or safety of individuals experiencing homelessness. The shelter operates from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and provides access to food, beverages, and on‑site shower and laundry facilities.

Position Summary

Wage Grid 13 ($30.86 to $32.18 per hour)

Surrey Youth Services is currently looking for auxiliary on-call staff to provide overnight extreme weather shelter support during the winter. Hours will vary. Successful applicants will be part of an auxiliary pool and may have the opportunity to work in a variety of youth work settings such as supporting youth in the resource rooms, outreach and other activities in the Youth Hubs and various other youth programs.
