Job summary

The City of Richmond Hill is seeking a part-time Sports Instructor to deliver age-appropriate sport programs, monitor safety, and engage participants. You will plan classes, supervise activities, and work with volunteers to run inclusive activities across a flexible schedule.

Required certifications include High Five PHCD, Emergency First Aid/CPR-B, plus NCCP. Prior coaching experience is an asset; police check may be required; position ends on a rolling basis with deadline dates.

Qualifications

  • High Five PHCD Certification is required if working with participants ages 4–12 years.
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR-B certification (Standard First Aid and CPR C for on ice programs).
  • NCCP/Coaching Certification and/or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Minimum age of 15 years and at least 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and actively supervise planned activities.
  • Engage participants and ensure a variety of activities related to the type taught.
  • Plan and organize all classes with daily lesson plans.
  • Work with volunteers and ensure their involvement in programs.
  • Maintain safety and complete program paperwork (attendance, hours).
  • Assist with adaptations for participants with disabilities with the integration team.
  • Attend staff meetings and maintain current certifications.
