Job summary

Vancouver Whitecaps FC is seeking motivated Youth Development Coaches to join our Academy Centres and Camps network across Okanagan, B.C. You will deliver engaging sessions and foster a positive, inclusive environment while supporting player development and attending events.

The role emphasizes collaboration, professional growth, and adherence to coaching standards, with opportunities for progression through the Whitecaps pathway.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth in coaching, teaching, or leadership.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a professional coaching environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate within a team and take feedback in a growth-minded way.
• National coaching certifications (Canada Soccer, USSF, UEFA, or equivalent).
• Playing experience is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate training sessions in alignment with The Whitecaps Way training methodology and values.
• Create a positive, safe, challenging, and inclusive environment for every player.
• Support player development through clear instruction, role modelling, and constructive feedback.
• Assist with session setup and takedown, equipment care, and facility oversight as required.
• Communicate professionally with parents, players, and colleagues before, during, and after sessions when needed.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and complete player evaluations when assigned.
• Support the culture of professionalism, respect, teamwork, and growth across all programming.
• From time to time, support special events including tournaments, showcases, camps, and club experiences.
