Job summary

Youth Residential Support Worker – Location: Scarborough, ON (45 Lionhead Trail); Employer: Kinnect Support Services; Compensation: $21.00/hour; Positions: Full-Time & Part-Time | Rotating Shifts

Shifts Available
  • 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
About the Role

Kinnect Support Services is seeking compassionate, reliable, and trauma-informed Youth Residential Support Workers to join our dedicated team in a residential program serving youth ages 12–17. This program provides a safe, structured, and therapeutic living environment for youth who have experienced trauma and require consistent support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with youth in care.
  • Assist with daily routines: hygiene, meals, school preparation, and recreational activities.
  • Support youth during community outings and appointments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming household environment, including meal preparation and light housekeeping.
  • Respond to crisis situations using verbal de-escalation techniques (physical intervention only as a last resort).
  • Collaborate with team members to foster a respectful and supportive environment.
Requirements
  • Valid G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proof of $2 million liability insurance coverage.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Previous experience in youth residential or social service settings (asset).
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to support youth who may display challenging behaviors with patience and professionalism.
