Job summary

Threshold Housing Society seeks a Youth Housing Support - Rover to assist youth in our Supportive Housing Program in Victoria. You will help with appointments, meals, and daily living supports in a team-based, holistic approach.

The role involves travel between sites, 10-hour shifts Fri–Sun with alternating Thursdays, and a salary of CAD 26.74–31.00/hr depending on experience. A relevant bachelor's degree and 1–2 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Child & Youth Care, or equivalent.
• 1–2 years working with vulnerable youth and at-risk populations.
• Experience facilitating programming is an asset.

Position title: Youth Housing Support - Rover

Reporting to: Manager of Youth Supportive Housing

We open doors for youth and prevent adult homelessness. We serve at-risk youth experiencing homelessness, aging out of care, or fleeing violence in the home. Position Overview

The Rover position will be providing support to youth in our Supportive Housing Program. The goal of the program is to provide housing and the support for youth who are MCFD involved. The role of this person is to support youth in various ways, with a focus on driving youth to and from appointments. This position will work in a team environment utilizing a holistic approach to support each youth's individual needs around mental health, life skills, community supports, housing and other identified areas.

This is a full-time permanent position 10-hour shifts, from 12:00pm to 10:00pm, working Friday to Sunday and alternating Thursdays. The wage range for this position is $26.74 - $31.00 per hour dependent on experience and related skills. The successful candidate can expect to enter the organization no higher than the midpoint of the compensation range.

Education & Experience

• Possess a relevant bachelor's degree such as Social Work or Child & Youth Care and have a minimum of 1-2 years' experience working with vulnerable populations and at-risk youth. Other combinations of education, experience and training may be considered
• Experience facilitating programming is an asset
• ASIST training
• NVCI training

Working Conditions

• This position routinely travels between Society locations to support operational needs and ensure appropriate program coverage.
• Travel between sites is an expected and ongoing responsibility of the role. Ability to work independently and as a member of a wraparound care team
• Threshold will provide a yearly training and professional development allowance

Special Requirements

• Up-to-date Emergency 1st Aid certificate
• Food Safe Certificate
• Immunization record, including TB testing
• Must have a Criminal Record Review Check completed by and satisfactory to Threshold as well as sign Code of Conduct, and Confidentiality Agreement
• Possesses a valid Class 5 Driver’s License, Clean Driver’s Abstract and has a reliable vehicle
• Agree and follow our policies and processes
