Job summary

Ray of Hope seeks a full-time Therapist to provide psychotherapeutic services within our Community Counselling program for youth and families. Therapy may take place in the community, at homes, or other settings where youth feel safe, with a strong emphasis on safety-first practice and collaboration with community partners.

The role includes conducting assessments, building strength-based treatment plans, and delivering individual, group, and family counselling, while supporting caregiver

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or related field preferred, or a bachelor’s degree with supervised placement in psychotherapy.
• Three to four years’ experience working with youth, problematic substance use, and psychotherapy.
• Certifications include WHIMS, First Aid and Non-violent crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidential clinical and statistical records and process documentation in a timely manner.
• Coordinate referrals, admissions and discharges with partner organisations.
• Conduct screening and assessments to determine eligibility for participation in treatment programs.
• Deliver individual, group and family counselling/psychotherapy, often in community locations outside the office.
• Develop participant-centered, strength-based change strategies in collaboration with participants.
• Provide parent coaching, family mediation, and support in conflict resolution.
