Autism Services in Canada seeks a Youth Program Coordinator to develop and deliver activities that promote healthy lifestyles for FDFN youth and families. You will build rapport with youth, support their self-esteem, and coordinate monthly calendars and community referrals.
You will collaborate with FDFN, MLTC, and partner agencies, ensure a safe, welcoming environment, manage logistics like budgeting, shopping, facility bookings, guest speakers, and incident reporting, and help evaluate events
Develop and deliver programs and activities that promote healthy lifestyles and address the needs of FDFN youth and families.
Develop rapport with the youth to build their self-esteem and discuss their challenges. Some situations may arise that will require YEW to make referral s to appropriate professionals.
Develop a strong network with other FDFN, MLTC and other agencies that support the FDFN Youth Philosophy.
Provide a welcoming, safe, respectful environment for youth where supervision will be provided at all times in all areas being utilized for programs and activities.
Ensure facilities where programs take place are cleaned daily and any maintenance issues are reported immediately.
Create and maintain reasonable expectations of youth conduct towards peers, YEWs and any guests and service providers who visit the Youth Center. These will be displayed in the Youth Center at all times.
Provide written incident reports as needed and ensure appropriate follow up takes place. This may include contacting parents, facilitating a talking circle, suspension from activities, etc depending on the nature of the incident.
To assess the needs of youth by engaging them in the development of monthly programs and activities.
A monthly calendar of daily activities must be completed and submitted 3 days before each month and advertise it.
Cover all areas of planning and delivering daily activities; budgeting, shopping, advertising, booking facilities, recruiting guest speakers, clean up and evaluation of event.
