Job summary

Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) is seeking a full-time Youth Coordinator to oversee land-based healing and youth programs funded by Jordan’s Principle. The role involves coordinating activities, mentoring youth and families, and delivering culturally grounded initiatives on the PAGC lands and in community settings.

The Coordinator will work under Health Director and Embrace Life Coordinator supervision, developing yearly work plans and calendars, and ensuring safe, engaging activities that

Qualifications

• Energetic and passionate about working with youth, young adults and families.
• Minimum of 24 years of age and a resident of the community.
• Cree speaker is an asset.
• Experience working with youth, young adults and families.
• Demonstrated ability to model quality life style and work with others.
• Must be self-directed and detail oriented.
• Demonstrated organization and communication skills.
• Knowledge of survival skills on land, hunting, fishing, traditional foods, camping safety.
• Willing to work on the land with youth in all seasons.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate programs with YAC and PAGC ELC and Land Based Team.
• Address needs using a strength-based approach.
• Incorporate cultural teachings, language classes and proper protocols.
• Engage youth to develop leadership and self-esteem.
• Participate hands-on in programs, activities and events.
• Provide quality interaction with members, volunteers and participants.
• Assist with on-the-land training delivery and meeting coordination.
• Oversee daily operations with volunteers and staff.
