Youth Care Worker
Reconnect Youth Village

You are a strong and positive role model, capable of establishing rapport with vulnerable youth and providing crisis support. You enjoy supporting and guiding youth through various activities and challenges.

In this Youth & Community Services role, the successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and ability to work with vulnerable populations
  • Knowledge of community services, resources, and supports
  • Experience working with Aboriginal groups and communities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including report writing
  • Ability to provide conflict resolution support and crisis intervention
  • Experience supporting daily living skills and advocating for clients
Qualifications
  • A combination of education (e.g., Social Work, First Nations Studies, Criminology, Psychology) and experience. PGNFC recognizes lived experience as an asset in supporting youth.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a willingness and ability to obtain an unrestricted Class 4 license within 3 months of hire.
  • Certifications: Standard First Aid, Crisis Prevention/Intervention (CPI), Suicide Intervention (ASIST), Food Safe, or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check.
  • Preference will be given to qualified applicants of Indigenous ancestry, in accordance with section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code.

Wages: $27.19/hr - $32.76/hr, based on qualifications and experience (night shift premium).
