Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Youth Care Worker provides client-centered, trauma-informed support to youth aged 13-18. This role reflects PGNFC's Youth department's commitment to Respect, Belonging, and Reciprocity, creating opportunities for youth to engage with community, culture, and holistic well-being.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the health and social determinants impacting vulnerable youth and will be skilled in meeting youth where they are, providing non-judgmental support, and fostering trust. Outreach services will be delivered at times and locations most accessible to youth, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
Preferred (or willingness to obtain with PGNFC support): First Aid Level 1, Crisis Intervention Training, Suicide Prevention Training, Food Safe Certification, Class 4 Driver's License.
