Position Details
- Position: Full-Time Security Guard
- Site: York Mills Centre
- Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
- Hours: Sunday 12:00 to 00:00, Monday 16:00–00:00, Thursday Night to Friday morning 00:00–08:00, Friday Night to Saturday noon 00:00–12:00
- Pay rate: $18.62

Key responsibilities
- Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security.
- Perform regular security checks of the property, including parking areas, entrances, exits, and other designated areas.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
- Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed.
- Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
- Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
- Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly.
- Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
Prerequisites
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- Valid G class Driver License
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin\'s UoF/MOAB training program prior to onboarding to meet requirements
- Note: UoF/MOAB training is not paid as a prerequisite; Paladin will cover training costs with a 6-month commitment to the position
