Job summary

UPS Vancouver Hub is hiring Part-Time Yard Shifters for the Vancouver hub near YVR in Richmond, BC. This permanent part-time role involves coupling/uncoupling tractor trailers, moving equipment, and supporting package handling, with training provided.

Shifts include Tue-Sat 00:00-5:00 and Mon-Fri 12:00-17:00; full medical and dental benefits, pension, wage progression, and opportunities for advancement within UPS Canada.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Clean Driver’s Abstract.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Ability to lift and push up to 70 lbs.
• Able to assist with extra weekend work occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Move/shift containers and trailers within a defined area.
• Adhere to and follow company established safety rules and procedures.
• Follow and execute company-established safe/defensive driving methods.
• Drive with and reverse dollies, 28’ trailers and 53’ trailers (extensive training provided).

Vancouver Hub Vehicle Yard Shifters

Permanent and Part-Time Positions (YVR Location)

We are currently looking for Part-Time Yard Shifters for our Vancouver Hub Operations (near YVR).

UPS Yard Shifters performs the coupling and uncoupling of tractor trailers. They move and maneuver tractor trailer equipment into position for the tractor trailer and package handling operations. This part-time position will include other work as directed. Selected candidates will be trained for this position.

• Shifts Available:
• Tuesday to Saturday 00:00AM - 5:00AM
• Monday to Friday 12:00PM to 5:00PM

Compensation And Benefits

• Guaranteed wage progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement with top rate above $30.00¹ per hour upon completion of wage progression
• Health and dental benefits after 12 months of employment (commences on the first day of the month after meeting the requirement)
