Job summary

Magna Mining Inc. in Sudbury, Ontario is seeking a Surface Operator 2 to join our McCreedy West team, supporting yard operations, loading and unloading materials, organizing the yard, and assisting day-to-day operations on site.

This hands-on role rewards safety-minded, dependable teamwork with opportunities to operate forklifts, loaders, and other material handling equipment; you will help ensure hazardous materials are moved safely and yard traffic stays organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in yard/logistics/mining or similar environment.
• Forklift or front-end loader certification.
• Experience with JD Edwards is preferred.
• Strong safety awareness and hazard recognition.
• Reliable, accountable and organized; able to work hands-on.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain situational awareness around equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned tasks in yard operations.
• Load, unload, and stage materials using approved equipment.
• Operate forklifts, loaders, and material handling equipment if qualified.
• Support material distribution to site operations.
• Maintain organized yard storage areas and safe yard traffic flow.
• Handle and transport materials, including dangerous goods, per regulations.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll help keepmaterials moving safely and efficiently across site — operating equipment,loading and unloading materials, organizing the yard, and supporting theday-to-day needs of the operation.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Perform assigned tasksin yard operations.

• Report hazards,discrepancies, equipment defects, and near misses promptly.Communicate yardconditions and operational needs to supervisors.
• Coordinate withMaintenance, Operations, and Logistics teams to support workflow.
• Identify opportunitiesto improve material flow, housekeeping, and yard efficiency.
• Perform other duties asrequired.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

• Have a high schooldiploma or equivalent.
• Bring at least 1 year ofexperience in a yard, logistics, mining, industrial, or similarenvironment.
• Hold forklift orfront-end loader certification
• Haveexperience with JD Edwards
• Bring strong safetyawareness and hazard recognition.
• Are reliable,accountable, organized, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
• Communicate effectivelyand work well as part of a team.
• Maintain strongsituational awareness while working around equipment, vehicles, andmaterials in an active yard.
