Job summary

Magna Mining Inc. in Greater Sudbury is hiring a Surface Operator 2 to join the McCreedy West team.

This hands-on role supports yard operations by loading, unloading, operating forklifts and material handling equipment, and maintaining organized yard areas to keep materials moving safely. You should have a high school diploma, at least 1 year in yard/logistics/mining, and forklift or front-end loader certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a yard, logistics, mining, industrial, or similar environment.
• Forklift or front-end loader certification.
• Experience with JD Edwards.
• Strong safety awareness and hazard recognition.
• Reliable, accountable, organized, and hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks in yard operations.
• Load, unload, and stage materials using approved equipment and procedures.
• Operate forklifts, loaders, and material handling equipment, if qualified and authorized.
• Support material distribution to site operations.
• Maintain organized yard storage areas and safe yard traffic flow.
• Handle and transport materials, including dangerous goods, in accordance with regulations.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine equipment inspections.
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free yard areas.
• Follow all safety regulations, site procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Report hazards, discrepancies, equipment defects, and near misses promptly; communicate yard conditions to supervisors.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Operations, and Logistics teams to support workflow.
• Identify opportunities to improve material flow, housekeeping, and yard efficiency.
• Perform other duties as required.

We’re looking for a Surface Operator 2 to join ourteam and support yard operations at McCreedy West.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll help keepmaterials moving safely and efficiently across site — operating equipment,loading and unloading materials, organizing the yard, and supporting theday-to-day needs of the operation.
