Job summary

Ritchie Bros. is seeking part-time Yard Staff to join our Yard Operations team in Canada. You will safely receive, process, and line up consigned equipment for live auctions, while supporting sale day operations and checkout processes.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to operate heavy and light equipment, and adherence to our customer-service standards. Join a busy, hands-on environment dedicated to accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license meeting company’s motor vehicle policy required.
• Role involves safe handling of equipment and assisting with auction day operations.

Responsibilities

• Receives/releases consigned equipment for auction
• Lines up equipment for display using auction listings
• Drives/operates heavy and light equipment
• Performs facility inspections and basic housekeeping/maintenance
• Performs basic maintenance on company-owned equipment
• Manages keys for equipment and operates forklift for loading/unloading
• Sets up signage, flags, and cleanup for auction day
• Holds items for sale and places operators in rolling stock
• Performs other duties as assigned

It takes a hardworking team of energetic people in a wide variety of full-time and part-time roles to conduct a successful multi-million dollar auction – from equipment inspectors, yard managers and operators to administrative staff and customer service representatives.

Job Description

The Part Time Yard Staff safely receives, processes, lines up, sale day support and check-out consigned equipment for the auction. Strict adherence to the Ritchie Bros. standard of customer service is always expected of the Yard Staff

Responsibilities

• Receives/releases (checks-in/checks-out) consigned equipment for auction
• Uses an auction listing to line up equipment for display prior to auction
• Drives/operates heavy and light equipment
• Performs facility inspections (per checklists) and provides housekeeping or maintenance services as necessary
• Performs basic maintenance on RBA owned equipment
• Manages keys for equipment
• Operates forklift to load/unload stationary row equipment
• Boosts equipment
• Basic assembly of equipment i.e. dozer blades, etc
• Checks fluid and fuel levels on equipment
• Lot number equipment
• Sets out signage, flagging, and trash receptacles for auction day
• Drives sound truck
• Holds ‘This item for sale sign’ (stick person)
• Places operators in rolling stock
• Parks sold equipment on the ramp
• Perform other duties as assigned
