Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking a forklift driver to perform a variety of shipping duties and material moving at our Winnipeg, MB location.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of forklift experience with a valid license, be able to operate a Shunt truck, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment outdoors and indoors with PPE. The role involves a 39-hour work week and a weekend shift (Fri–Sun) with a starting rate of CAD 23.79 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of forklift driving experience with valid license.
• Ability to read schedules and communicate effectively.
• Ability to learn and operate a Shunt truck.
• Physically capable of performing the role and working outdoors/indoors.

Job Summary

Reporting to the location's Supervisor, your focus will be to perform a wide variety of shipping duties and material moving.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Work the following weekend shift with a starting hourly rate of $23.79:
• 13 hour shift: Friday - Sunday
• Days 7:00 am- 8:00 pm (paid 1 hour break which includes coffee breaks too)
• Provide us with a criminal background check by uploading it in "attachment documents" when uploading resume or at time of interview
• Work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with extremely hot materials while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklift equipment
• Operate Shunt truck to move trailers indoor and outdoor
• Load trucks as per shipping paperwork
• Load bundles on the truck safely and follow Company's safety rules
• Move scrap, dump scrap bins as needed
• May perform other duties as supervisor deems necessary

Education / Experience Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 diploma (or GED)
• Minimum 1-2 years of working experience as a forklift driver and have valid forklift license
• Ability to learn and drive Shunt truck
• Ability to read, write and follow schedules
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Physically capable of performing the role
• Ability to work in a team environment
