Job summary

Startec Compression & Process Ltd. is hiring a Yard Operator for our Shepard Shop in Calgary, AB. The role requires organizing and supplying materials for production, yard cleanliness, and safe handling of pipe and structural steel.

A valid driver’s license and strong familiarity with fabrication terms are needed. You will work in a fast-paced environment with evolving tasks, collaborating with multiple departments to ensure timely material readiness while maintaining safety and yard

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in a similar role
• Familiar with steel fabrication, pipe and steel nomenclature
• Valid class 5 driver's license
• Able to operate a variety of equipment including forklifts, loaders, man lifts, scissor lifts, plow truck
• Must pass pre-employment Physical, Alcohol & Drug Test

Responsibilities

• Keep yard maintained, organized and clean
• Staging of material required for upcoming jobs
• Offloading/loading raw and finished goods in a safe responsible manner
• Work alone safely and responsibly, work collaboratively in a team environment during periods of high activity/capacity
• Maintain light daily maintenance on yard equipment
• Snow removal
• Communicate with department heads to supply the Production plant with material when and where required
• Promote Startec's Core Values, visions, mission, Code of Ethics, policies and procedures, operating instructions and standards, both internally and externally, and oversee the adherence to the prescribed organizational values

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting a Yard Operator to work at our Shepard Shop (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). The successful applicant must bea versatile person that canoperate in a fast-paced environmentwith constant change. This position requires various duties that include, but are not limited to: organizing and supplying materials required for production or for light maintenance, general yard cleanliness, etc.
