Job Summary:

The Yard Labourer in Grande Prairie, Alberta is responsible for materials handling functions in the Tuboscope pipe yard, including loading, offloading, and storage of customer inventory.

This position is safety sensitive, and employment is conditional on satisfactory completion of pre-employment testing.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Unload pipe from trucks and/or rail cars using hands and/or basic equipment, including collaring pipe, using crowbars to push/pull pipe to tighten racks, and tallying joints of pipe.
2. Load pipe onto trucks and/or rail cars using hands and/or basic equipment, moving pipe from storage racks.
3. Store pipe by tiering it on storage racks using basic equipment such as crowbars and 2x4s.
4. Maintain storage racks and areas under the supervision of the Yard Foreman.
5. Guide loaders and operators using hand signals.
6. Inspect pipe and threads.
7. May be assigned as Designated Labourer, supervising work team activities without disciplinary authority.
8. Follow all company and corporate policies, procedures, and safety/environmental requirements.
9. Participate in training programs as required.
10. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

• Partial high school education with the ability to read, write, and speak basic English to perform job duties.
• No prior work experience required.
• Ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures.

HSE Requirements:

• Work outdoors in a yard environment, with potential exposure to dust, fumes, gases, and temperature/humidity changes.
• Physical requirements include squatting, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 23 kg, reaching, twisting, climbing, walking on rough ground, and working near moving equipment.
• Must wear proper protective clothing and equipment at all times and perform duties safely.
