Job summary

Total Sanitation Services in Hillsburgh is seeking a Yard Handler to maintain portable sanitation equipment, trailers, and the yard to high site standards. You will perform routine groundskeeping, prep and service porta potties, and assist with deliveries and pickups as needed.

The role emphasizes hands-on work outdoors, lifting up to 50 lbs, and using basic tools. You must be reliable, communicate well, and be able to commute to our onsite shop in Hillsburgh.

Qualifications

• Handyman experience in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or millwright preferred.
• Proficient with basic hand and power tools.
• Forklift license is an asset.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather.
• Capable of standing for extended periods.
• Willing to work at events and customer sites.
• Must be reliable and able to commute to work consistently.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and repairing portable units, trailers, and lavatories – may require a service call to customer/client property.
• Maintain and account for shop, asset, and yard inventory.
• Assist with deliveries and pickups as required.
• Receive stock orders and organize within the warehouse/shop.
• Clean and maintain company building/shop.
• Complete yard maintenance at shop/yard.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisory/management.

About the Role

The Yard Handler maintains the property, porta potties, and trailers to ensure a clean, safe, and organized site. This role is responsible for routine groundskeeping, prepping and servicing porta potties, cleaning and maintaining trailers, and managing trash cans and waste disposal. Performs inspections, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks to support daily operations and maintain site standards.

Work Location: Fully Onsite

Pay: $19 - $21per hour
