Job summary

Rolling Mix Concrete is seeking a responsible Yard Hand for the West Plant. The role focuses on general labour, basic maintenance, and daily plant support to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Candidates should have construction experience, a valid Class 5 license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and basic mechanical aptitude. You will work outdoors/indoors with variable shifts, including nights, and must pass pre-employment testing.

Qualifications

• Valid class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
• General construction experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Basic mechanical ability for maintenance repairs.
• CSTS Certification is preferred.
• WHMIS training is preferred.
• Must be able to be clean shaven (mask fit required).

Responsibilities

• Perform general labour throughout the plant.
• Perform basic maintenance on plant equipment.
• Assist Plant Manager with tasks and operations.
• Dump ice and other materials into concrete mixtures.
• General housekeeping and yard work.
• Operate skidsteers and other small equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

We are currently looking for a responsible, dependable, and safe Yard Hand at the Rolling Mix Concrete West Plant. This position is primarily responsible for basic maintenance, support, and labour at the plant facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labour throughout the plant.
• Perform basic maintenance on plant equipment.
• Assist Plant Manager with needed tasks and operations.
• Dump ice and other materials into concrete mixtures.
• General housekeeping and yard work.
• Operation of skidsteers and other small equipment.
• Participate in and adhere to all safety protocols, polices, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Hours Of Work

• This is a full time, permanent position.
• Shifts times vary based on production schedules, including early mornings, afternoons, and occasional night shifts. However, typical hours of work are 8-10 daily.
• Shifts may be scheduled Monday - Saturday.
• Overtime, evenings, weekends, and occasional night shifts are required.

Work Environment

• An outdoor and indoor environment, working conditions will be subject to weather conditions.
• This position is physical in nature and requires bending, crawling, crouching, and standing for long periods of time.
• Materials are heavy and cumbersome, must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and fit for work testing as a condition of employment.****
